Staff Sgt. Verna Davis - The Woman of Many Wars
A 55 year old woman who has served in the United States Army and the Army National Guard for 26 years, having been deployed 5 times - Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Iraq War (3x) -, in addition to 2 non-war deployments. A woman soldier who served the tour of duty assignment during the Iraq war, as a mother. An accomplished veteran, having been recognized and awarded with countless medals, awards and certificates. Staff Sgt. Davis, however, acknowledges that none of these accolades substitute for the post-military life dealing with PTSD. Davis lives with PTSD, but does not allow the disease to control her life. Davis has since graduated from both Pulaski Technical College and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, with degrees in Bakery/Pastry and Culinary Arts Baking and Pastry, respectively.
